Course Overview
This course provides delegates who have a current offshore survival training certificate (BOSIET or FOET) with the knowledge and skills to act as an offshore lifeboat coxswain (twin fall) effectively.

In order to complete an OPITO approved Offshore Lifeboat Coxswain Supplementary Fall Training (Single Fall) course, delegates must hold:
A valid and in-date offshore survival training certificate (BOSIET or FOET)
A valid and in-date OPITO Offshore Lifeboat Coxswain Initial Training certificate or equivalent recognised certification
Due to certain aspects of the course being potentially physically demanding and/or stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement
Course Content
Delegates completing an OPITO-approved Lifeboat Coxswain Initial Training (Twin Fall) course will be able to;- Understand the coxswain's role and responsibilities (twin fall)
- Handle a craft Recover persons from water
- Understand use of controls, steering craft, launch, and recovery
- Move a totally enclosed motor propelled survival craft (TEMPSC) to a safe area
- Prepare a craft for evacuation
- Tow and pace
- Use a compass
- Use radio, pyrotechnics and emergency equipment

- Certification: An OPITO certificate will be issued upon successful course completion.
- Certificate validity (months): 24
- Revalidation: The course must be revalidated every 2 years.
- Items to bring: Government Issued Photographic ID eg Driver Licence or Passport
- Health prerequisites: Due to certain aspects of the course being potentially physically demanding and/or stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement
