Course Overview

This course has been developed in response to the demand for recognisable Control of Hazardous Energies Training in the wind industry. It has been created in co-operation between members of the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) based on;
- Risk assessments
- In-depth descriptions of job roles
- Tasks relevant to CoHE in the wind industry
- Factual incident and accident statistics pertaining to the installation, commissioning, service and maintenance of wind turbine generators and wind power plants

The Global Wind Organisation (GWO) Safety Control of Hazardous Energies (CoHE) Combined standard consists of three modules which are:
-GWO Basic Safety Control of Hazardous Energies (Basic CoHE)
-GWO Pressure Safety Control of Hazardous Energies (Electrical Safety CoHE)
-GWO Electrical Safety Control of Hazardous Energies (Electrical Safety CoHE)

The overall objective of the course is to develop participants' understanding of the hazardous energies associated with; working on wind turbines, their roles and responsibilities, how to create a safe working environment and what to do in various routine, specialised and emergency scenarios.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites Required!
In order to complete GWO Basic Safety Control of Hazardous Energies (Basic CoHE), delegates must hold:
    Delegates must Be WINDA registered before arriving for the course.

More information

  • Certification: A GWO certificate will be issued upon successful completion.
  • Certificate validity (months): 24
  • Target audience: New existing and aspiring technicians for the Wind Turbine Sector
  • Revalidation: The course must be revalidated every 2 years.
  • Items to bring: Government Issued Photographic ID eg Driver Licence or Passport.
  • Health prerequisites: Due to certain aspects of the course being potentially physically demanding and/or stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement.
