ACCORDING TO A REPORT RELEASED LAST YEAR BY THE GWO AND THE GLOBAL WIND ENERGY COUNCIL (GWEC), ALMOST HALF A MILLION NEW WIND WORKERS WILL BE NEEDED TO MEET GLOBAL DEMAND BY 2025.
This increasing need for skilled personnel means many people are considering a career in the global wind sector.
Skills in particular demand include engineering and construction qualifications and skilled tradesmen such as electricians or mechanics will find it easy to transition into wind.
For those thinking about retraining to take advantage of the potential new career opportunities, 3t Training Services is the UK’s number one wind training provider and was voted ‘Training Team of the Year’ in 2021 by the GWO.
There are lots of 3t Training Services delegates who’ve made the leap into wind to inspire you – including Barry Boyle. A former salesman, Barry is now enjoying a new career in the global wind industry after completing his GWO training with 3t.
Linzi Ryan, Head of Marketing at 3t Training Services, said:
“As the UK looks to achieve it’s net zero target by 2050, many people are thinking about changing careers and taking advantage of the opportunities in wind.
“There are a large number of wind projects around the UK currently – such as Dogger Bank in North East England, which is ramping up recruitment and new licences awarded by Scotwind, so it’s an exciting time to join this growing sector.
“And it’s not just wind – with 10 out of the 15 Oil & Gas majors already announcing their own net-zero emissions pledges it’s an exciting time for the energy industry as a whole as we all shoot for the same target! If it’s an industry you’re interested in, 3t Training Services is able to help with all your training needs.”
