Course Overview

This course provides delegates with a basic induction in safety procedures and accident prevention. The course coverts the employment conditions and working environment onboard merchant vessels.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites Required!
In order to complete STCW Personal Safety & Social Responsibility (PSSR), delegates must hold:
    Delegates must be at least 16 years of age. Due to certain aspects of the course being potentially physically demanding and/or stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement

Course Content

Delegates completing an STCW Proficiency in Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities training course will be able to;
- Comply with emergency procedures
- Take precautions to prevent pollution of the marine environment
- Observe safe working practices
- Understand orders and be understood in relation to shipboard duties
- Contribute to effective human relationships on board ship

More information

  • Certification: A Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA) certificate will be provided upon successful completion of this course.
  • Certificate validity (months): 60
  • Target audience: All maritime personnel
  • Revalidation: The course must be revalidated every 5 years.
  • Items to bring: Government Issued Photographic ID eg Driver Licence or Passport
  • Health prerequisites: Due to certain aspects of the course being potentially physically demanding and/or stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement
