Meet Fiona, the Training Manager at our Bellshill Centre, located just outside of Glasgow.
With her wealth of experience and extensive knowledge, Fiona is a highly valued member of our team at 3t Training Services. She is well-regarded by both colleagues and delegates who train at the Bellshill, where we offer a diverse array of training services for the utilities and construction industries, including Gas, Water and Power courses.
Fiona’s journey in the utility industry began in 1999 when she started at Kennedy Utilities in an administrative role. Before this, she gained experience working in HR/Training at Motorola Semiconductors, where she began her career as a Youth Training Scheme (YTS) participant.
Building Expertise in the Utility Sector
Fiona’s interest in the training initiatives within the business led her to attend several courses, which sparked her fascination with utility works, particularly in the gas sector. This curiosity motivated Fiona to pursue various qualifications, including Gas, NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act), and Health & Safety certifications. Over time, Fiona developed a solid foundation of knowledge and expertise in the techniques and technologies used within the utility industry, which she now incorporates into training programmes at 3t to educate others.
Expanding Knowledge as a Training Instructor
Throughout her career, Fiona has had the opportunity to work within utility training across several companies. Most recently, she worked for Utility & Construction Training which is now part of 3t Training Services. Each of these roles has enriched Fiona’s experience and understanding of the industry, enabling her to effectively contribute to the training and development of utility professionals in her current role as Training Manager at 3t Training Services.
Commitment to Continuous Development
Fiona is passionate about continuous learning and has pursued various qualifications to enhance her expertise. These include Assessor and Internal Verifier qualifications, industry-specific accreditations, IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health), and more recently, NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health). She is also an EUSR Accredited Trainer for SHEA (Safety, Health, and Environmental Awareness) and Water Hygiene.
Dedicated to Developing Future Talent
Over the years, Fiona has remained dedicated to the development of people working within the utility industry. She has had the privilege of working with excellent mentors and colleagues, collaborating at all levels to develop and deliver successful technical and managerial training programmes for utility network asset owners throughout the UK.
Fiona looks forward to continuing this path, helping future utility staff at all levels to better themselves and enhance their skills for the future.
